Hovie SUP adds to its Race Team

Hovie SUP is excited to announce the signing of two future star SUP racers to full sponsorship agreements to race the new Hovie SUP Comet race board. Riley Ritchie and Cory Fults are both top OC1 paddles from Newport Beach CA, have trained at the NAC for years. They raced in the “Battle of the Paddle” this year and took 3^rd & 5^th in the Open race in the under 18 division, in their first SUP race ever… We look forward to supporting you in your bright future in SUP racing.

2011 NAC Hovie SUP Festival April 9th

It’s with great excitement that we announce the 2^nd Annual NAC Hovie SUP Festival. Newport Harbor’s largest Stand Up Paddle (SUP) competition will be held April 9^th, 2011 at the Newport Aquatic Center.

The NAC Hovie SUP Festival Race is a benefit for the “NAC Youth Waterman’s Academy” proceeds will be directed to NAC foundation.

The NAC Hovie SUP Festival Race event includes competition with races of “Elite 6 mile Race” and Open short-course 4.0 mile, Kids Race, Pouch & Paddle and more. The 2010 race attracted 160 competitors and hundreds of spectators. Sanctioned by the WPA and Sponsored by Stand Up Paddle Magazine...

NAC Hovie SUP Race Elite Race Boards Size 12'6" or 14"

We are looking to condense the money class in the NAC Hovie SUP festival Race next April 16th to one board size. Doing this we can offer a larger cash prize with the signing of a top sponsor. It will run a 6 mile race inside the harbor for the cash. We are still 50/50 on doing a distance race as well... What i need to kind out, racing 6 miles, what would the ideal board size be? 12'6" or 14'

Hovie SUP had a great showing at "Battle of the Paddle" 2010.
